Win £5,000 for writing stuff!

ICAEW is again inviting current university students, ACA students, and recently qualified members to submit a 5,000-words essay/video on the question: “How should the accounting profession help organisations increase their resilience to the effects of environmental risk by changing the way they do business?”

This is the third year the ICAEW has run its Climate Essay Competition and the website shows potential entrants some possible areas to explore.

Last year’s winner was ACA trainee Sofia Tziortzi. She explained: “Participating in the ICAEW Climate Essay Competition challenged me to rethink the role of the accountancy profession iun achieving net zero, and in particular, how existing corporate reporting frameworks can hinder meaningful climate action.”

Up for grabs again this year is a £5,000 prize for the winning entry – that’s a pound a word!

Closing date for entries is 13 May 2025. The winner will be announced in late June 2025.
