A crumpled white short covered in tacks has won the annual Turnip Prize.
The annual spoof art competition was won by ‘Wonga Woman’, for her piece entitled ‘Tax In Creases’.
Organised by The New Inn, Wedmore, Somerset, for the last 26 years, this year’s winner said she was inspired while carrying out some domestic chores. She said: “It’s a great honour to receive the fantastic prize and I am fully aware that the trophy comes with a bill for VAT (Vegetable Added Tax),”
Organiser Trevor Prideaux was “delighted with the lack of effort taken to create this work.”
