PwC has been voted the UK’s number one employer in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey 2024, for the second consecutive year.
The ranking is based on interviews with over 14,000 final year students at 30 UK universities. The firm was also first in the Accountancy and Actuarial sectors.
Over 1,500 graduates and school and college leavers joined PwC in 2024, and 450 students completed the summer internship programme.
Placing an emphasis on the value of the in-person experience throughout recruitment and early career stages, the firm saw more than 450 young people complete internships with PwC in the summer of 2024, with interns choosing to spend an average of 4.4 days a week in the office.
For this coming recruitment season, graduates applying across all PwC’s business areas will have a final stage in person interview, with a partner or director, at one of the firm’s 19 offices across the UK.
PwC said it is committed to enhancing the diversity of its student recruits, with a particular emphasis on socio-economic diversity to improve social mobility. As part of its Diversity in Business initiative, aimed at first-year university students, PwC has introduced an Advancing Social Mobility pathway this year. This programme is designed to inspire and support students from lower socio-economic backgrounds. It focuses on developing their confidence and skills and provides an insight into the opportunities available at PwC. After the three-day experience, students could be offered a place on PwC’s Summer Internship programme the following year. Ian Elliott, Chief People Officer at PwC, said: “We’re incredibly proud that university graduates have voted us as the top graduate employer for a second consecutive year, reflecting our ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.”
- PwC’s recruitment for 2025 is now underway, with the firm planning to visit over 50 UK universities, as well as offering students the opportunity to attend in person office and virtual events.
