The Secretary of State for Business, Alok Sharma, has appointed Keith Skeoch (pictured) as interim chair of the Financial Reporting Council.
He takes up the position for six months. Skeoch was previously a non-executive, and will take up the role while a recruitment round is carried out to find a permanent replacement.
Just so you know (we know you do) the FRC is responsible for regulating auditors, accountants and actuaries, and setting the UK’s corporate governance and stewardship codes.
He was former CEO of Standard Life Aberdeen and co-chief executive of its asset management business Aberdeen Standard Investments.
We can’t find anywhere that says he was an accountant!
