The Public Finance Awards 2024 took place recently in London. Among the winners was Finance Future Leader of the Year Lin Liu (pictured), who is a management accountant at Children’s Services and Public Health, Bedford Borough Council. Awarding her the top prize the judges said: “The candidate serves as an inspiring and effective team leader, taking personal interest in her colleagues’ wellbeing and professional development as well as work for the profession through her work on CIPFA Student and other networks.”
Among the other winners were Wigan Council’s finance team, who won the Councils and Local Services Finance Team of the Year and the Grand Prix prize. Sonia Khan from Transport for London picked up the Outstanding Contribution to Promoting Diversity & Inclusion award.
Transport for London’s group FD, Patrick Doig walked off with the Public Finance Leader of the Year prize.
