ICAEW November Advanced Level PQs who have booked to sit their exam by remote invigilation, have been told they should sit their exam at a physical centre, as the institute has not been able to completely resolve the software lagging for exams sat by remote invigilation.
The ICAEW has been working hard to fix the problems experienced by some July Advanced Level exam sitters. In an email sent to students it said: “We have tested several potential fixes but cannot guarantee that this issue will not reoccur during a remotely invigilated exam.”
To enable trainees to change their booking to an exam centre, ICAEW will reopen the booking window from 10.00 (UK time) on Thursday 21 October to 15.00 (UK time) on Friday 22 October.
Staff have secured additional capacity.
ICAEW said it appreciates that for a variety of reasons exam centres may not be possible for all students, so has some additional options for trainees that cannot move to a centre to consider:
- To go ahead with their remote invigilation exam as planned, accepting possible disruption. We will guarantee additional support during the exam and the option to add additional time on the day to compensate for any lagging experience.
- To withdraw from their exam and sit it in July 2022.
- To withdraw from their exam and sit it at a session, date to be confirmed, at the end of this year or in the New Year, when they can sit safely in an exam centre, or when remote invigilation issues are resolved.
Any students with complex access arrangements and those that cannot move to a centre will also be contacted directly by ICAEW.
