Three bold ICAEW trainees decided to sit four Professional papers last December, and it was a disastrous choice – all three failed all four papers!
The pass rate was higher for the 809 students who sat three papers. Some 71.3% (557) passed them all.
Another 17.3% passed two papers and 7.4% just one out of three.
That left 32 students who failed all three.
Most students, 2,797 PQs, opted to take two papers. The pass rate for those passing both was 71%. Some 311 sitters failed both.
The pass rate for ACA students sitting one paper was a worrying 62.5%. It meant out of the 2,542 sitters just under 1,000 failed.
That all means of the 6,151 students who sat the last sitting of 2019 some 1,300 left the exam hall without any passes.
