Bishop Fleming has welcomed a record-breaking number of apprentices into the business.
This year’s intake of 74 is up 14 on the number taken on last year. The new recruits include 43 university graduates, 26 school leavers and five placement students.
Bishop Fleming grew fee income by 15.5% in 2022 to £38.4 million, and the firm has seen its headcount rise above 500 for the first time. This continues the firm’s ambitious plans to double in size in the next five years.
The apprentices will work across the firm’s eight offices in Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Truro, and Worcester.
Each trainee will receive an extensive induction plan for their first 100 days as they start to undertake their qualifications for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), with whom the firm is a ‘Partner in Learning’.
Anna Averis, Partner and People Director for Bishop Fleming said: “We have ambitious growth plans and our record-breaking number of trainees yet again this year is testament to our commitment to invest in new talent into our business. As one of the few firms in the UK to have Employer Provider status, it is fantastic to see that our Apprenticeship programme is yielding great results.”
