Face covering is now mandatory in England in enclosed places from today.
However, they are not required in accountants’ and bookkeepers’ offices!
Minsters say that masks are ‘less important’ in places where you regularly see the same people. Not only are they less likely to prevent infection when spending several hours in the same room together, but it is easier to contact trace if an outbreak occurs where everyone knows who they were near.
That said masks are also not required at conference centres, libraries, cinemas, auction houses and gyms.
Where you must wear a mask: Shops, enclosed shopping centres, takeaways, banks, building societies, post offices, stations, bus stations and airports.
There is a fine of up to £100 for those caught flouting the rules
